Gundah jiwaku rasanya eh. I can't sleep - my mind is still too active. It's prolly because I'd had my Highway Code Test at Brunei LTD - and I hated it. I whined to everyone at work when I came back from the test at 3 pm sampai Omar snarkily commented, "Artinya selamanya lah ko kena driving kan tu!". LOL. If my destiny is to be chauffeured around - no problem beb. My pride does not suffer if people call me an old fashioned coach-riding princess. I am a 'point A to point B' person - don't care how, just go!
Honestly I absolutely love the idea! I spent a very short 2 weeks in Europe taking coaches, going by train, and went splurging on the black London taxi ride, basically experiencing the quote Public Transportation culture unquote which proves to be both educational and enjoyably satisfying (awu orang kebaruan). There were some crazy experiences like to buy halal chicken in the a kampong in Bristol, Ft and I had to exchanged at least 3 buses through some rough neighbourhood. However there were some fun stuff like do you know that if you stay in La Defense in Paris, the Metro (subway train) runs in a straight line from the district centre to places like Arc De Triompe, Champs-Elysees and Louvre? Though I admit you have to appreciate the town planner for this fact.

Still I wish that somehow that Brunei would have such a system in place. At this point of time I simply can't afford even 20k for a car, I am saving that much for a small wedding and marriage life with Awangku. I read it on someone's blog (which is now sadly defunct) that Government is unwilling to invest on Public Transportation because no local will be caught dead riding a purple bus. I would though! Not without air conditioning unit though and it has to work at least 50% as efficiently as Transport for London. Heck, we don't even have updated map of Brunei available at the kadai runcit, jangan kan public transportation, town planner kitani pun masih honeymoon. Hehehe.
There are so much more to comment - like the poll on YM Tuan BR's blog on building bridges - I voted for Build the darn thing oredi. My 2 cents to this 1 billion dollar question is sure it's a very expensive investment, but will the relevant authority follow up with plans and immediate actions to get that money back that is not limited to $10 toll gates and spiels on Brunei Tourism shtick? We can only do our part and watch, and pray.

sorry to hear that love, it'd be great if you'd have nailed it, but do not despair, you can still take the test another time :) (I mean, even I manage to drive, albeit park diagonally :p ...don't even let me start on reverse and parallel parking >.<;;)
